Bus Assistant (Wife)

The Bus Assistant (Wife), is the helper in the covenant marital relationship between a man and woman.

Dear lady and Madam,

the reason why you are struggling with accepting the Leadership of your husband as the head of your home is that you lack the knowledge of your job description as a bus assistant, and how powerful your role is.

The bus assistant is an integral part of the driver and his ability to drive well.

Her duties include but are not limited to;

• Assist passengers (children) on and off the bus (the home)
• Assist in moulding, teaching, and training passengers (children) behaviour.
• Tend to the special needs and conditions of each passenger (children)
• Keep abreast of route and bus stop changes and passengers’ daycare arrangements.
• Assist the driver in maintaining a clean bus interior (the home)

She is the second eye of the driver, who watches the road for the driver because she sits at the entrance of the door of the bus, thus has the ability to watch both sides of the road, back and forth, and report back to the driver who watches his side, to avoid brushing another vehicle or hitting it.

Here in Lagos Nigeria, if you are a commuter who usually boards the popular yellow bus, you will always hear the conductor say to the driver; “owa legbe oo or watch your side”.

While the driver is focused on moving the vehicle forward with his attention fixed on the road, the bus assistant helps the passengers (Children) with their baggage, advising on destinations and ensuring the safety of the passengers, herself, and the driver.

The driver cannot be driving and at the same time turn back to help passengers (Children) with their baggage. He will crash the car, thereby putting his life, that of the passengers, and other road users in danger because he was distracted.

The bus assistant is as important as the driver. But it’s not her duty to drive the bus (the home). She’s to assist the driver as written in Genesis 2:18.

When the bus assistant struggles to take control of the steering wheel whilst the driver is driving, there is bound to be a collision. The driver, bus assistant, and passengers (children) can become casualties of a fatal accident.

The driver is the head of the home and is the one in charge and control of the steering wheel.

He determines the direction of the vehicle (the home).

The bus assistant can only make suggestions as an assistant. If the driver (husband) is someone who is intelligent and has the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, he will listen to the counsel of his help meet (bus assistant).

He knows that she is there to help him as there are things she sees and knows he doesn’t. So he is not ashamed to seek counsel and assistance from her.

Ladies (bus assistants) while making the choice of whom to marry, make sure you choose your driver wisely by the leading of God through the Holy Spirit. Not by the leading of your pastor, prophet, or your own selfish desires.

If you choose the wrong driver based on sentiment, what people will say, or present needs without looking at the future and his ability to make sound decisions, you will suffer the consequences.
Not just you, but the passengers (children).

Many married women are groaning and suffering under the wrong leadership of the driver (husband) they married.

As a single lady waiting to be married, or in a dating relationship. Open your eyes and make the right choice. Learn from the mistakes of others.
