Husbands Are To Pray For Their Wives Too

Husbands Are To Pray For Their Wives Too in marital relationships.

There is no place in the Scripture, where it is written that; prayer in marriage is the sole responsibility of the wives.

When Rebekah could not give Isaac a child or children after he married her, he did not nag her, beat her up every day and call her a barren woman, cheat on her with other women, or marry another woman to replace her with the excuse that; he is the only son of his mother, thus he needs to produce an heir to carry on the family name and age was no longer on his side.

No, he did not.

Isaac prayed to the LORD God on behalf of his wife because she was childless.

Did the LORD God answer?

Yes the LORD God answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant not just with a child, but twins.

Beloved women; never fall for the lies that it is ‘ only’ the duty of the wife to pray for her husband.

It’s a lie from the pit of hell,  and men who do not genuinely care for their wives.

From our text, we see that; husbands pray for their wives too. It’s part of their responsibility as a priest in their homes.

When they pray the LORD God answers.

I cannot emphasize enough, the need and importance for every man and woman to watch and pray when seeking the face of God in the choice of a life partner.

The head servant of Abraham whom he entrusted with the responsibility of finding a wife for Isaac, in Genesis 25:1-67 after he prayed and the LORD God answered his prayer with the arrival of Rebekah who acted exactly according to his request to the LORD, in verse 21 of the same Chapter without saying a word, closely watched her to learn whether or not the LORD  had made his journey successful.

He did not just conclude that since Rebekah acted the way he asked of the LORD, then she must be the right one for his master’s son; Isaac.

He watched her closely.

When trusting the LORD for whom to marry, praying only, is not enough, you have to watch while you pray.

Watch out for the red flags which are always there, except if you choose to turn a blind eye to them.

The red flags you refuse to acknowledge and address today will either cause you pain, destroy or kill you tomorrow.

Gone are the days when the responsibility of praying for the home and family is left to the wives alone.

The Scripture did not say; “ Wives pray without ceasing ’’

It simply said; “ Pray without ceasing ”

It is the responsibility of the wife to pray for her husband, as much as it is the responsibility of the husband to pray for his wife when there is a challenge in their home or a need they are believing the LORD to meet in their home and family.

Husbands Are To Pray Fo Their Wives Too

Ladies make no mistakes about it the choice before you is simple; marry a man who will stand in the gap for you when the need arises as you would do for him, or marry a man who will use the delay and challenge in the home to move in with another woman whom he feels will give him what you could not, or send you out to bring her into your matrimonial home to take your place.

Isaac married Rebekah when he was 40 years old but she did not give him children until when he was 60 years old. Genesis 25:26. For 20 years Isaac kept standing in the gap for his wife.

No beating or abusing her verbally or emotionally, blaming her for their childlessness nor did their love go sour.

Dear men, it is time you step into your office as a priest in your homes, and stand in the gap for your wife and children before the LORD God. Quit destroying your homes, and hurting your wife whom you swore to love and protect.

Stop letting societal views, pressures, customs, and traditions tear your home apart.

Isaac is a like man as you, he withstood these pressures, standing in the gap patiently for 20 years. If he did it, you can. Let no one tell you otherwise.

When you pray, be sure there will be an answer from the LORD God.

Dear single and searching or dating and in courtship ladies, the man whom you are dating now, or in courtship with, can he do the same for you if you are to be in the same shoes as Rebekah was?

Are you watching and praying or praying alone?

Search your heart and answer sincerely.

God Bless You.
