A Widow Been Consoled

Dear Widow,
I’m sorry You Lost Your Husband. I’m sorry You have to do life alone after Promising to Live and Raise Your Children and Grow Old Together.

I Empathize With You.

“There are many things God forbid but Life Permits.” Pastor Olumide Emmanuel

📌Yes, you lost your husband,
📌Yes his family members have taken all his properties and assets from You.
📌Yes the house rent is due,
📌Yes there are creditors on your neck,
📌Yes you have piles of bills to pay,
📌Yes you are distraught.

But I’m here to Tell You Today, that being a Widow is Not the End.

Bible Verses On Grief

Ruth was a Widow, a Moabitess who returned with her Mother-in-law to Canaan, a Strange Land where she knew no one.

She did not cry and mourn her state, crying helplessly as if the end had come; she rolled up her sleeve and went out in search of fields and farmlands to glean among the ears of grain after the reapers. The reapers confirmed that she came early in the morning and continued gathering grain except when she sat (resting) for a little while in the (field) house. Ruth 2:7

Ruth did not take the easy way out of sleeping with Men, either poor or rich, for money to meet her needs. She did not have BSC or MSC or anyone to help her, but she had her hands to work with and she put it to Use.

Boaz, her brother-in-law, a relative of her husband confirmed this.
“Then he said, “May you be blessed by the LORD, my daughter. You have made your last kindness better than the first; For You Have Not Gone After Young Men, whether Poor or Rich.” Ruth 3:10

She worked hard to earn her daily bread and take care of her Mother-in-law, and God saw her willingness to work, and loyalty and gave her favour before Boaz.

In 2 Kings 4:1-7 The Widow of the Prophet cried to Elisha for help, saying ” Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant (reverently) feared the LORD; but the creditor is coming to take my sons to be his slaves (in payment for a loan ).”

Elisha said to her ” What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have ( of value ) in the house? ” She said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house except a( small ) jar of (Olive) oil.”

He gave her instructions on what to do with the oil, and when she came back and told the man of God that she had carried out his instructions, He said, ” Go sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”

Dear Widow, from the two illustrations shared, you can see that You are not alone. You are not the first Widow, neither will you be the last. But one thing that will stand you out, is Your Ability To Find a Purpose and Meaning even amid Your Pain, albeit how Painful it is.

In the Scripture, it is written;
“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)

No one Prays to be a Widow at a Young age, but when it happens, you must resist the counsel, suggestions and thoughts of taking the Easy Way of Sleeping with Different Men, either Poor or Rich, for Money to meet your needs or Pay Your Bills.
The LORD God who created You, has also made a way of escape amid the Storm. Trust Him, to lead and guide You into the Way of Escape he has made for You.

📌He is the Husband of the Window.
” A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”
Psalms 68:5

There is Something You know, and have through which He can use to Minister to and Meet Your Needs and Pay Your Bills.

Do not let Anyone Molest and Abuse You and Your Daughters or Sons, in the name of helping to Provide for Your needs as a Widow.

Boaz had a deep respect for Ruth when he saw her working hard to care for herself and her Mother-in-law.
He commanded his servants Not to Touch Her, Insult Her or Rebuke Her.

He went further to tell them to purposely pull out for her some stalks of grain from the sheaves and leave them so that she may collect them.

Why?
Because she chose to put her hands to Work.

Would You Do the Same or Go the Easy Way?

Ruth could go to the fields to glean after the reapers, the Widow of the Prophet had a small Jar of oil.
