The Sinner Evangelist story shared John 4:1-42 teaches about God’s love for all mankind, be ye a Jew or Gentile.
When Jesus needed to bridge the gap between the Jews and the Samaritans in order to bring the Gospel to the Samaritans, He did not go to the house of their top scholars or teachers of religion and faith.
He positioned Himself by Jacob’s well, to meet with the lady evangelist in that town, who though was living in sin as it were, was not qualified to preach this gospel according to the standard of men and religion, had what it takes to bring people to hear Jesus speak and teach.
The Sinner Evangelist Lady who has had five husbands in the past, and was presently living with the Sixth Man who was not her husband, knew about the “Messiah and his coming”.
The woman said to Jesus, “I know the Messiah is coming- the one who is called Christ. When He comes, He will explain everything to us”. Verse 25
But what she did not know was that the one who was speaking with her was the Christ whom she was expecting, to explain everything to her.
Jesus did not look down on her, speak to her in a condescending tone or manner nor did He judge her for living in Sin with a man she was not married to.
He had a simple and respectful conversation with her.
Jesus himself said that;
“I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know that they are sinners and need repentance”. Luke 5:32 (NLT)
Jesus, having got the attention of the Samaritan woman introduced Himself to her;
“I AM the Messiah!”.
The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could He possibly be the Messiah? So the people came streaming from the village to see Him.
Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said;
“He told me everything I ever did!”
When they came out to see Him, they begged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there Two Days, long enough for many to hear His message and believe.
They said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we hear him ourselves. We know that He is indeed the Savior of the world”.
Jesus ended up spending Two more days with the Samaritans, preaching the Gospel and winning souls for God’s Kingdom, because a “Sinner” introduced Him to the villagers.
The villagers came because of her “WORD”, then encountered Jesus Christ genuinely for themselves and knew Him as the Savior of the World.
Soul Winning for Christ is not the way we are seeing it done today.
God did not send His Son to condemn and judge the world but to save the world through His Love.
The Love of God as seen in John 3:16 is what made Him send His Son and Not His Angel to die for Mankind.
Beloved, in that your Evangelism Group, are you condemning and judging sinners, or are you telling them of the Father’s Love?
Are you preaching Jesus, His Love, His Death and Blood shed for the remission of the Sin of Mankind?
Jesus Christ and His Finished Work upon the Cross, is the “Message”.
Not the condemning of those who wear trousers, Use hair extensions, Lip Stick, perming of hair, Fixing of nails.
It is the duty of the Holy Spirit to Convict the World of Sin.
No amount of preaching, pleading, judging, condemning, or pointing of fingers will bring about the conviction of sin unless the Holy Spirit is at work in the sinner’s heart. It is the Spirit’s job to convict.
Not your job.
Tell people about Jesus Christ and His Love, step aside and let Him draw them to Himself.
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me”.
God has a special love for sinners and the bad people in society. He uses them for special assignments. Where we see sinners, He sees “Special Agents” on assignments.
The sinner evangelist pointed people to Jesus, would you do the same?
God Bless You
